Worm Composting Workshops
Settlers Green Public School was literally crawling with worms as students attended Cathy's "Organic Magic with Worms" demonstration. Cathy, from Crawly Composters, taught the children all about red wiggler worms and their role in nature. The goal of the workshop was to inform young people about how worm composting can be a fantastic way to convert food scraps and paper into a nutrient-rich fertilizer. The kids were shown how to make their very own compost using a composting bin, soil, water, eggs, paper, food scraps and last, but most definitely not least, the red wiggler worms themselves. And, for the ones who were brave enough, they even got an opportunity to play with the worms! The presentation was both a fun-filled and informative way to learn about living more organically.
