Mayor's New Year's Day Levee

What better way to ring in the New Year than attend the Mayor’s 30th New Year's Day Levee.
The Mississauga community was invited to spend the afternoon with the Mayor and Members of Council and enjoy the free entertainment featuring local talent from various schools of diverse cultures. The event was held at the Mississauga Civic Centre on Thursday, January 1, 2009 from 2 – 4 p.m.
The afternoon was kick started with a very enthusiastic and informative address from the Mayor and was followed by featured performances from the immensely talented students of the Longlade School of Dance, All Masters Martial Arts Centre, Sri Sanskriti Dance Studio, Barvinok Ukrainian Dance School, Mississauga's Children's Choir and the Port Credit Secondary School Chamber Strings.
Everyone who attended was invited to meet Mayor McCallion and the other Members of Council in the Council Chambers.
Free face painting and balloon animals were available for the young of age and young at heart.
