2008 November > Knights' Ball Mississauga Convention Centre was the location for the St. John Ambulance Knights’ Ball. This event celebrates and recognizes 125 years of St. John Ambulance work in the community. Upon walking in, guests were pleasantly greeted by the soft melodic notes of the Honour Guard Harpist and the friendly waiting staff, serving both mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres and crisp, sparkling champagne. It was a terrific atmosphere, with guests decked out in glamorous evening gowns and dashing suits, the hall decorated with a medieval theme and even two very convincing suits of armour standing guard at the entrance to the dining area. From a silent auction to a psychic, to an address by Mayor McCallion, to a comedy set by comedian, Derek Edwards, and a dazzling performance by George St Kitts to conclude the event, the evening was definitely a memorable one. Thank you, St. John Ambulance, for 125 years of service in the community.
