2008 November > The Ride for Diabetes Research The RBC Meadowvale Towers played host to Ride for Diabetes Research, which was a stationary bike event put together to raise money for Diabetes Research Foundation. Teams consisted of five members who collected pledges from family, friends and business contacts prior to the ride. The teams then got together for a great day of riding. Spirits were high as the music filled the room and everyone had a laugh seeing many onlookers wearing funny headbands or even masks to help keep all the riders' spirits up. Food and massages were given to help keep everyone going. The teams split up their time on the bike by 8 min intervals. The annual goal for all Ride for Diabetes was to raise $5.6 million and, for this location, it was $450,000. Apart from the money raised, everyone sent the message out for Diabetes awareness. Good job guys!
