Smart Meters are starting to be installed throughout homes in Mississauga. A Smart Meter records and reports when electricity is being used inside people's homes, and it helps to manage electricity bills in a new way. An open house was held at the Mississauga Central Library for residents of Mississauga who have questions about the meters. Shawn and Yetunde were there answering questions and making residents more aware of the positive outcomes of the Smart Meters. There was also a booklet and a DVD to give everyone some more information. Sheldon, from the Conservation Department, was there letting people know how to save energy. He was also introducing programmable thermostats, a kilowatt device and had energy efficient bulbs there for the residents of Mississauga who attended the open house. The open house was a night to come out and learn more about how to keep your house energy efficient and learn more about the Smart Meters being installed in your homes.
