2008 November > Sister Natasha's Bird House Youth Troopers for Global Awareness (YTGA) is a group of enthusiastic and passionate high school students who are determined to raise awareness of global and local issues through their writing, art and theatre. On October 19, the Burnhamthorpe Library Theatre was the stage for Sister Natasha’s Bird House. It was an impressively unforgettable production about the trafficking and sexual exploitation of women and children. The goal of the play was to make the public conscious of the shocking statistics of this international trade with hopes that the government will take action against it. The event concluded with a panel discussion with RCMP Inspector Marty Van Doren and One Child’s Founder, Cheryl Perera, as well as the immensely talented and passionate cast and crew members.
