Parents, Debbie and Kelly, take Alyssa for the first time on ice
Loonie Skate
Despite the deepening chill of winter outdoors, the ice rinks of the city of Mississauga have plenty of visitors. Seniors and hockey players, first-timers and seasoned skaters, a good cross-section of the community took advantage of the city's Loonie Skate at designated recreational centres. The recreational skate program ran from mid-October to December 21. Skating is a great way to exercise with the family and you go at your own pace. Whether you're a learner or an expert, the Loonie Skate is certainly well worth the fee! If you missed the chance in 2009, keep an eye on SNAP's event calendar for it next fall.
