Recreation Therapy Week Showcase
One’s health does not strictly consist of the physical, and Specialty Care Mississauga wanted to make sure everyone knew about it when the facility presented a recreational wellness week. Everyone who entered the event received a passport that was taken to each station. The stations all represented a different wellness, each considered vital for the residents to be active in and for those at home too. After visiting a station, participants were given a sticker to add to their passports. Once all the stickers had been collected on a passport, it was handed in to be entered into a draw. The stations were social, physical, spiritual, intellectual and emotional. Sophie, one of St. John Ambulance's therapy dogs, was even at the event to remind people how important animals can be in our lives.
