YMCA Volunteers get together for a photo before the event

Olympian joins Mississauga YMCA on Family Day to support Strong Kids

Kids could barely contain their excitement recently as the Mississauga YMCA not only kicked off its Family Day activities, but also launched its YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. The morning began with some inspiring guest speakers and a visit from two-time Field Hockey Olympian, Michael Mahood. After Michael signed some autographs, families got started with the fun-filled day of activities and obstacle courses for everyone to enjoy – kids even got to take home Olympic-style medals of their own! All eight YMCA locations across the GTA opened their doors for the day on February 15th, welcoming families in the community to check out the facilities and their programs and activities for free.
