Ice Warriors Hockey Gala 2011
The Ice Warriors Hockey Association hosted its 2nd annual fundraising gala on November 4th, at the beautiful Red Rose Convention Centre, 1233 Derry Road, Mississauga. The festivities began with a wonderful dinner and music supplied by the group Elton-Rohn. A silent auction of sports memorabilia was followed by a casino and dancing. The IWHA, a proud member of the Greater Toronto Hockey League, consists of eight teams and 120 players. Jason Allison, President of the Ice Warriors, and a former Toronto Maple Leaf, said that the goal of the Association is to provide boys with an exceptional life experience while at the same time helping them acquire and develop their hockey skills. Jason noted that hockey could cost families up to $3,000 - $15,000 per year. All proceeds from the gala are used to keep costs as low as possible for parents so their children can play hockey.
