Free South Asian Heritage Event

On May 21, Malton Neighbourhood Services hosted a free South Asian Heritage event which showcased South Asian culture in a fun and educational way. Among the activities planned for the day was a fashion show, cooking and sari wrapping demonstrations, henna applications, palm readings and much more. People of all ages came to learn about a different culture while taking part in a wide selection of activities perfect for the whole family to enjoy. South Asians have made many contributions to Canadian culture, from politics to business, law, medicine, arts, entertainment and beyond. This festival helped recognize and celebrate the South Asian culture in our community in a fun and interactive way. Most importantly, the event was a celebration of Canada’s diverse culture as a whole.
